On October 25, Puerto Rican demonstrators draped their flag across the Statue of Liberty’s forehead. The protest called for Puerto Rican independence and the release of imprisoned nationalists.
The event in National Park Service recordsWe chose light blue, muted red, and bone for this interpretation. Set against Liberty’s crown, the Puerto Rican flag brings identity into a monument associated with freedom. The film is our artistic retelling of that image.
